The Fox and Hounds can lay claim to being a true fly fishing hotel.
Countless anglers have passed through its doors having experienced
fishing on one of Devon’s major rivers, The Taw. With a healthy head
of wild brown trout and runs of both sea trout and salmon there are
many and varied opportunities for the visiting angler to enjoy.
The river is also home to numerous kingfishers, dippers and wagtails
and don’t be surprised if you bump into an otter too.
The Hotel has over 5 miles of the Taw divided up into 6 beats that are
rotated on a daily basis ensuring that you will see a new beat each day.
