There are numerous golf courses with a few minutes drive of the hotel and one of the many joys of playing golf in Devon is that these fabulous courses tend be very quiet and great value for money. A few of the nearby courses are as follows;
Chulmleigh:
This is about ten minutes drive from the hotel and offers 18 short holes of golf. This is a good fun course and ideal for families although experienced golfers will still face a challenge. Usually only takes two hours for a round with green fees around £9.50.
Waterbridge:
This is a nine hole course with number of interesting holes. Suitable for all levels but will suit beginners and intermediates best. Ten minutes drive from the hotel with 18 holes costing around £15.50.
High Bullen:
Award winning golf course 5,750 yards in length. This course is very well maintained with great views and some particularly interesting holes. About 15 minutes drive from the hotel with green fees ranging from £20.00 (twilight) to £30.00.
Libbaton:
This is a testing golf course with water featuring at ten of the holes and a good length at 6,500 from the white tees. Approximately twenty minutes drive with green fees around £20.00.
Saunton:
These two link courses are two of the best courses in the country and are both in superb condition. Booking is essential and green fees are around £40.00 - £75.00. The drive from the hotel is about 35 minutes.
Royal North Devon:
Another link course located at Westward Ho and is the oldest course in England and is regarded as the English St Andrews. Can be a very testing course especially if the wind is blowing. Green fees range from £29.00 to £40.00.
