Cobley Farm – Eggs & Dairy
A family-owned producer of free range hens’ eggs based in Down St Mary in Mid-Devon. Founded in 1987 just 5 miles from Eggesford at Lapford the farm now has 6 000 birds which produce approx. £10 000 worth of eggs a month.
Quickes Cheeses – Newton St Cyres, Crediton (located on the A377)
At Quickes Traditional they have been making cheese using milk from their own dairy herd for 450 years. Every truckle is handmade by one of nine skilled cheese makers before being wrapped in muslin and carefully matured for anything up to 24 months. The Quickes Mature Cheddar is renowned and won the bronze in the 2008 World Cheese Awards!
